This month's Coffee Shop of the Month takes us to Fort Myers. Take Two Coffee + Donuts, at 3594 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901, is an independently owned roastery and donut shop that opened its doors here in May 2025, and it holds a 4.8-star rating on Google. Once you taste the Strawberry Shortcake Latte, it is easy to understand why.
The Signature Drink
Take Two roasts its own beans, and the espresso bar is where the menu gets interesting. The signature drink is the Strawberry Shortcake Latte: espresso and milk with a house-made strawberry shortcake syrup, finished with a strawberry shortcake cold foam on top. It tastes like the dessert it is named for, but balanced enough to drink on a regular Tuesday. If you want something that leans breakfast, the Sunday Brunch Latte uses a house-made blueberry pancake syrup, and the Blackberry White Chocolate Matcha layers matcha with blackberry and white mocha under a blackberry cold foam. The coffee side also covers the classics: cortados, cappuccinos, Americanos, pour-overs, and cold brew, with seasonal roasts rotating through.
The Donuts
Donuts are made fresh each morning, and the case turns over fast. The signature is the Florida Man donut, a local twist on a Boston cream, and the menu prices classics around $3.50 and specialty donuts around $4.00. It is an easy stop for a coffee and a donut without the fuss of a full sit-down breakfast.
The Atmosphere
The room is compact, roughly 800 square feet, with white walls, bright pops of color, plants hanging from macramé, and a mural outside the door. There are several places to sit, including a counter by the window, and the espresso machine is a La Marzocco, the kind serious coffee shops choose. Nothing about the place feels rushed. It is the sort of neighborhood stop where you can be in and out in five minutes or settled in for an hour, and both feel natural.
Good for Working or Meeting?
Yes, with one honest caveat: the shop closes at 2 PM, so this is a morning venue. The website invites you to linger a bit, and the seating works well for a laptop session or a low-key coffee meeting before the lunch rush. If you are planning to camp out all afternoon, you will want a backup plan after 2. For a focused morning of work or a casual meeting over coffee, Take Two fits comfortably.
Hours and Getting There
7 AM to 2 PM Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; 8 AM to 2 PM Saturday and Sunday; closed Tuesdays. Take Two sits on Broadway just south of Carrell Road, an easy stop on the way into downtown Fort Myers or out to the stores and offices off U.S. 41. Phone: (239) 412-3975. The best move is to confirm hours on the website before you go, since a small shop like this can shift its schedule with the seasons.
Fort Myers is one of the five Southwest Florida cities I serve, and a place like this is part of what makes the area feel like home: a small business started by local people, roasting its own beans, making its own donuts, and welcoming anyone who walks in. If you are exploring Fort Myers neighborhoods with a move in mind, the Fort Myers area guide is a good place to start, and this guide to buying a home in Fort Myers covers the practical side of the market.
The Source
I only feature businesses I can confirm from a live source. The details above come from the shop's official website at taketwocoffee.com, which lists hours and the current menu. The opening was covered by The News-Press in May 2025 and profiled by Daily Coffee News in June 2025. Hours and seasonal menu items change, so check the website before you visit.
